Gruyère vs. Provolone
This week offers a rare and irresistible opportunity to compare two Ferraris, both of which left Maranello nearly identically but were raised in two very different environments.
I’m of course speaking of the Swiss educated yellow TB who clearly summers in Spain and the yellow TS from New Jersey which spends its summers “down the shore”.
Could they possibly be more different, more emblematic of their upbringings? The smooth-roofed Swiss car looking to this day exactly as it did in the brochure, while the NJ car wears the scars of decorative trends that once earned you respect at the Garden Plaza meet up in Paramus. You know, over by the Fogo de Chao.
So what do I think? I think the Swiss car is nearly perfect. It’s a desirable coupe in a desirable color and aside from some paint work, it’s flawless.
The NJ car has also had paint work, though likely less than its Swiss cousin. The modifications are complete trash, but they could be removed, of course. I also don’t like the greased up lower body panels. They should be matte as on the Swiss car. But I suppose that’s par for the course…. “gabagool, provolone, and vinegar peppers”

My thoughts:

- Both cars are nice, but both have had partial paint work.
- Take that shit from 2011 off the NJ car, including the wheels, and it’ll look fantastic.
