If this car were yellow I’d be remortgaging my house to overpay for it.
It’s no secret that the Serie Speciale (SS), especially a slick top car (tb), is my favorite mid-engined Ferrari and today’s example with its perfect number of miles — neither too high nor too low – makes it even more enticing.
Coming to the internet via BaT, and hailing from Connecticut, our dealer-owned car shows a tick over 39k miles in a can’t-go-wrong red over tan color scheme.
But I’m not without my skepticism.
The pics are too unnatural to give an accurate sense of the paint’s condition, so I would definitely want to get extensive paint meter readings. Also, the wheels are on backwards.
The invoices are presented in a pile and are not at all legible. I would want to scan through these in detail and feed them into an AI. I did this recently with a Bentley my friend was looking at, and it uncovered an undisclosed mileage discrepancy.
Then there are a few minor deviations from stock that irk the purist in me, but most could be easily set right by a new owner if they too happen to be bound by tradition. I’m speaking of the extra adornments in the cockpit and the perforated door cards.

My thoughts:
- Read through the maintenance records.
- Get paint meter readings.
