They say beauty is only skin deep; not with today’s 348. This example from Bring a Trailer is unusual not only in its striking Blu Chiaro paint, but in the fact that its relatively clean interior (especially for the mileage) belies its poorly maintained exterior. Usually I find these things go hand-in-hand. Not today.
I’m surprised so many features of the interior are clean and intact on this clearly hard-living 50k mile car; features I don’t find nearly as nice on examples with a quarter of the miles; yet the body looks like it was painted in an Maaco parking lot. How does that happen?
I’m not sure, but it wouldn’t shock me if this car left Maranello wearing a different hue. I’m not saying I see evidence of that, but when cars show up in desirable and rare colors I am always skeptical, especially when they show signs of paint work.
