1995 Ferrari 348 Spider

Today’s 348 is a really lovely ‘95 Spider brought to us by Bring a Trailer from somewhere in Ohio other than one of their many major cities or Dave Chappelle’s village; nowhere you’ve heard of. Anyway, this Red over ‘not-tan’ (aka black) example has had several owners – 6 – but sports very few miles, just 21,000. That’s low in my book and I do genuinely think this car has good bones. However….

Of all the 348s I’ve reviewed this particular one is the most poorly-presented ‘nice car’ I’ve seen. The seller is doing this car a serious disservice, but that might mean a stellar deal awaits an intrepid bidder. Details below.

My thoughts:

• The paint is going to require a serious correction. Budget a few grand to have it done properly, but ask the seller to send meter readings before bidding so you know there is enough paint left to polish. Any reading under 4 mils and you need to be careful. Any reading over 9 mils and I’d worry it’s been resprayed.
• The interior is going to require a proper detail (degreasing) as well.
• The cracked turn signal lens is going to cost a lot to to replace. Budget $4k.
