Here we have a 1989 ts (targa), the first year of the model in can’t-go-wrong Rosso Corsa over tan with 47k miles on the odometer.
Presented by Luxury Motorcars LLC out of Sacramento our car looks to be a decent driver with a few caveats below.
Asking: $79,900
VIN: ZFFFA36A9K0082601

My thoughts:
- A considerable amount of “stickiness” is present.
- I’ve never seen a black pinstripe between the roof and the body on the buttress before. This worried me because this is a common area for cracking and corrosion as the two panels flex. Is there stripe there to coverup damage?
- No 1989 cars left the factory with body-colored side skirts or front and rear lips. It was not uncommon at the time for dealers or FNA to send cars out to have them matched, however. Regardless, it’s not correct.
- The door sills have been painted red but they should be satin black. I would wonder why. Rusty? Scratched? Water can accumulate here and rust soon follows.
- I would inquire if the seats were re-dyed. There’s not much wear/patina for the mileage.
- I’m personally not a fan of aftermarket shields on 348s — which never came with them — if you don’t like them I’d recommend asking the dealer to remove them to ensure the paint below is in good condition.
- Upper door material looks to be in poor shape.
- Steering wheel leather appears to be in poor shape.
