1990 Ferrari 348 tb

Update 12/3: sold for 70k

Update 11/27: the seller got in touch and shared a better picture of the build tag (added to gallery) and explained the satin black painted exterior trim has been applied with Armour All.

I may be in the minority, but I love a yellow Ferrari. Especially a 348. Especially in the harder-to-find slick top configuration.

This one comes to us via Bring a Trailer (my first auction on this blog) with an ending date of Tuesday, December 3rd ( 3:06pm).

In general I think this 12k mile car is in nice shape, with the usual nitpicks below.

My hammer prediction: $69,000

My thoughts:

• Why is the bumper red under the yellow paint? I’d enquire about this and ask for paint meter readings.
• What happened to the satin black exterior trim pieces? Were they coated with a trim restore product? These should be painted. They aren’t black plastic as on many modern cars.
• Looks like a lot of stickiness is present. See the usual places.
• Broken center caps are an unforced error.
• Reenforce the driver’s seat belt tab before it falls off!
