“Victory has a hundred fathers, but defeat is an orphan” – Sunshine
Here we have an interesting proposition: a 348 with *nine* previous owners, a veteran of Mecum, and a dark exterior; but in spite of all that… a well-adjusted show piece?
Today’s 348 comes to us out of Houston via a Bring a Trailer dealer auction. The car has a partially repainted black exterior, a tan interior, very cool period-correct Speedline wheels, and mostly shows well. As it should with just 18k miles. But then again, it’s had nine owners and a trip through Mecum. I just don’t know what to believe.
To make matters worse, the pictures aren’t very clear. The shots highlighting the car’s admitted flaws are far too dark to know what’s really happening, and the shots of the interior are too bright and blown out to offer any texture.
Is this a nice car despite its past? Maybe. But I’d want to to put eyes on it to be sure.
Estimate: $89,348

My thoughts:
- Get better pictures of the problem areas.
- Black is the easiest color to match so I’m guessing the repaint looks good in person.
- This car was at Mecum. Go see it in person. It’s been passed around a lot.
