1992 Ferrari 348 tb

Yet another smooth-roofed 348 hits the market, this time in metallic black over tan and with nearly 58k miles (93k kilometers) on the clock.

A European car originally sold new in Belgium our example bounced around Europe its whole life but has returned to Zonhoven, Belgium where it is being offered by Car Cave in Aiken, NC who offer importation assistance.

For the mileage I think this car is in generally good shape with some sign of restoration/repairs and some signs further restoration is required.

The upside to a 90s European 348 is that they didn’t come with the half-automated seatbelts mandated by the DOT in 1990, but even still I think the asking price here is a bit out of step with the market.

Asking: $84,159

My thoughts:

  • Definitely some amount of “stickiness” present. Most notably on the hvac surround but I’m sure elsewhere too.
  • The door sills have been painted gloss black. I would wonder why. Rusty? Scratched? Water can accumulate here and rust soon follows.
  • I would inquire if the seats were re-dyed.
  • I’m personally not a fan of aftermarket shields on 348s — which never came with them — if you don’t like them I’d recommend asking the dealer to remove them to ensure the paint below is in good condition.
